WALTHAM, Mass. – October 3, 2017 – Today, Digital Guardian announced its release of a new educational infographic, in celebration of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), which focuses on the issues of cyberbullying and online harassment. The infographic provides examples of how online harassment and cyberbullying is conducted and how it can infiltrate the workplace. Cyberbullying impacts both children and adults alike, and the infographic offers strategies and tips to protect yourself and your employees.

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), which takes place every October, is a collaborative effort between government and industry that is designed to ensure everyone has a secure online experience. NCSAM has grown substantially over the years, with 2017 marking its 14th anniversary. 2017 is also an important year as it marks the 7th anniversary of NCSAM’s STOP. THINK. CONNECT.™ campaign, which focuses on consumer safety online.

According to NCSAM, the STOP.THINK.CONNECT campaign means:

• STOP: make sure security measures are in place

• THINK: about the consequences of your actions and behaviors online

• CONNECT: and enjoy the Internet

Each week, during the month of October, NCSAM will focus on a different theme connected to STOP.THINK.CONNECT. – highlighting the following topics:

• Simple steps to online safety
• Cybersecurity in the workplace
• Securing new and emerging technologies
• Building the cyber workforce
• Promoting cybersecurity in critical infrastructure

As a long-standing advocate of NCSAM and supporter of STOP.THINK.CONNECT., Digital Guardian has created a new infographic “More than Mean Tweets: Protecting Against Cyberbullying and Cyber Harassment.

This new infographic describes different ways or tactics in which someone can be bullied or harassed online at home, in school and in the workplace; the typical perpetrators behind such behavior; common responses from target victims; and strategies for successfully dealing with cyberbullying and harassment.

In support of raising cybersecurity awareness, Digital Guardian is also offering complimentary printed poster versions of the infographic. Please contact [email protected] to request your copy and we’ll mail it to you free of charge!
