EMEA Digital Guardian Community & User Event 2019
05 - 07 February 2019
Pestana Palace Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal

Digital Guardian values input from our customers and we want to keep you informed of the latest developments with our data protection platform and business overall – DG’s Community & User Event (CUE) provides us the opportunity to do that. Every year you help us select a great location where we gather to share experiences about using Digital Guardian to support and optimize industry leading data security programs. In addition, we offer content not-specific to Digital Guardian, but of interest to all security professionals via special guests, panels and keynote speakers.

DG CUE offers you the one opportunity to network with your security industry peers and other DG platform users live and in person. While the sessions will be designed to extend your knowledge of DG and infosec in general, the opportunity to meet with other DG users to swap stories and learn from one another is invaluable. Need some more reasons to attend? How about 1.5 days of educational sessions about DG and the chance to understand the latest trends from cyber security experts as well as learn first-hand about actual end user experiences from seasoned DG users.

Keynote Speaker

Adam Bell, Security Program Manager.

Adam is an expert in security engineering at Microsoft. Adam’s session will provide a unique view of the benefits of combining Digital Guardian and Microsoft Information Protection for maximum data protection. Suggested Activities

We know it can be tough to get away from the office, but if you can get to Lisbon before the start of DG CUE or stay once the formal event ends, the hotel and surrounding Lisbon area offers some great amenities.

Explore Lisbon from high above on an open top bus and choose your route. Choosing this activity means you have the flexibility to “hop in/hop out” and discover the most iconic Lisbon landmarks. You'll see over 40 breathtaking points of interest that highlight the culture and energy that make Lisbon so unique.

Lisbon is the fifth oldest city in Europe. Alfama, Lisbon's oldest quarter, is spread over the southeastern slope of the hill. Crowned by Castelo de São Jorge (Castle), the quaint neighborhood is comprised of a maze of narrow streets, winding alleyways, and steep flights of steps. The small archways and stone-paved terraces are full of atmosphere and great fun to explore. Lisbon's old quarter offers many things to do; in addition to the castle, there are several historic 17th-century churches in the neighborhood, as well as Sé, the city's impressive cathedral. A handful of excellent museums in the area provide a diversity of culture; Lisbon's biggest flea market is here too.

Sintra, a small town nestled among the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Sintra is a great day trip. Only 33 km from Lisbon, Sintra looks like a fairy tale and has bewitched poets throughout time. It's where Lisbon cools off thanks to a subtropical microclimate that’s attracted lords and kings to build palaces there over the centuries. The result is Europe's first center of Romantic architecture. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sintra is where the Celts worshiped the moon, the Moors built the “The Great Wall of Portugal” and royalty built dream palaces. One of the most beautiful, Pena Palace, looks like it’s part of Disneyland but was actually a royal residence in the 1800s.

Lisbon hosts two football teams, S.L. Benfica and Sporting CP. Cristiano Ronaldo began his career in Sporting Club de Portugal’s youth academy system and Benfica is the most decorated club in Portugal, having won 79 domestic trophies. The stadiums are not far apart from each other, a delight for football fans that wish to visit both venues in the same day.
