As we close in on the one-year anniversary of the General Data Protection Regulation next month and inch closer to the California Consumer Privacy Act’s go-live date in 2020, it’s clear that that data protection is crucial, not only to the market today but to the nexus of compliance and privacy going forward. Amid talks of the US adopting a national privacy law of its own, data protection and privacy continues to be top of mind for industry pros and politicians alike.
These new regulations necessitate robust data protection and DG has been happy to deliver. As the industry’s only leader in both data loss prevention and endpoint detection and response, DG has shown our platform can safeguard sensitive data like intellectual property from both insider threats and external attacks.
This recent round of funding, led by LLR Partners - an existing investor, will allow DG capitalize on that demand through accelerated product development and innovation.
In addition to the funding, we’re happy to share three new executive changes: Connie Stack, who joined DG as Chief Marketing Officer in 2013, will help set the corporate strategy under a new role, Chief Strategy Officer, Debra Danielson will help provide technical vision and strategic direction for product innovation as the new Chief Technology Officer and SVP of Engineering, and Ben Cody will help lead product strategy as the new SVP of Product Management.
We’re energized just thinking about how the investment, coupled with recent additions to our executive team, will guide the company into its next chapter of growth and development.
The news comes at the tail end of a big month for Digital Guardian. Earlier this month our Synergy Partner program received a 5-Star rating in CRN's 2019 Partner Program Guide. The guide, a trusted resource in the industry, highlights an elite group of companies that offer the most rewarding partner programs. Just last week DG was thrilled to be named to JMP Securities Elite 80 list, a group of the hottest, most strategically positioned firms in the cybersecurity industry.
