Why the move?
We noticed a clear decline in the number of customers that were making the trip to Waltham or London to attend instructor-led training. The reasons were obvious:
- A lack of travel budget
- Scheduling complications
Our answer to these logistical challenges was to transition our existing courseware to a Learning Management System (LMS), making them available anywhere, anytime. You can check out all of our online training options on the Digital Guardian Training website. Customer response to the new training option was decidedly positive. In the month of September, when we made the transition, we had 8 students attend classroom training and 81 access the online training.
Wait, there is more!
In addition to removing scheduling obstacles, managers now have the ability to track their employees’ progress in training. This allows managers to restrict access to the Digital Guardian Management Console until their analysts and security engineers have exhibited product knowledge. Since access to online training does not expire, it also allows DG administrators to take any remedial or refresher training if required.
What is available?
The current online courses include:
- Intro to Reporting
- Data Visibility & Control
- Data Loss Prevention
- Network Data Loss Prevention
- Agent Troubleshooting
Our top priority is making sure that our customers get the training they need to deploy and administer Digital Guardian software solutions. Therefore, we committed to getting all core training online in 2016. In 2017 we will focus on building awareness and confidence in Digital Guardian solutions by bringing more advanced training courses online, including Advanced Rule Writing and Advanced Threat Protection.
