The latest release of the Digital Guardian Analytics & Reporting Cloud (ARC) contains a new feature that gives information security teams greater visibility into data activity in hybrid work environments: A more comprehensive integration with Microsoft Teams.
In March, Digital Guardian announced a Policy Pack for various collaboration apps including Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Skype. Our latest release, announced today, deepens the integration and eliminates the need for the DG agent to be installed on all machines. Digital Guardian is one of the few security solutions that has API access into Microsoft Teams. This connection is what delivers the data to Digital Guardian's ARC.
When a user is messaging via Teams, the chat log (both text and any file attachments) is processed by Azure and that is passed along to the DG cloud. Digital Guardian can then compare these to the policies deployed and flag any violations and, if warranted, can initiate a remediation to remove whatever caused the violation.
Because this happens for all MS Teams users, even those that may not have the DG agent, security teams can expand Digital Guardian's and Microsoft's security capabilities - including applying Microsoft Information Protection sensitivity labels - without adding complexity.
The Teams integration is available for all Digital Guardian customers of either our SaaS platform or our managed security offering.
