Waltham (February 1, 2017) - Digital Guardian, a next generation data protection platform purpose built to stop data theft, today launched The Digital Guardian App for IBM QRadar which integrates IBM security intelligence technology to achieve enhanced visibility and protection of sensitive data across the enterprise.
The high value of digital assets today has resulted in an increasing amount of threats, which target an organization’s sensitive data both from malicious insiders as well as sophisticated external attackers. Traditionally organizations have aggregated events from network security solutions into their SIEM to detect threats. However, in today’s climate of constant attacks focused on stealing data, organizations need more visibility of the targeted data itself and which users and processes are accessing that data. The Digital Guardian App for IBM QRadar provides SOC teams with complete visibility of sensitive data, who is accessing it and where it is being moved to inside and outside the enterprise – all from within the QRadar console. This same visibility of sensitive data across the enterprise provides customers with the ability to gauge their compliance with many of the key requirements of the new EU General Data Protection Requirements GDPR standard.
The Digital Guardian App for IBM QRadar provides easy access to alert data relevant to insider and outsider attacks from Digital Guardian with the ability to drill down and quickly remediate attacks on the endpoint. Digital Guardian provides granular visibility of all activity on the endpoint, including pre-correlated behavioral threat analysis which detects anomalous behavior by users and potential malware. This visibility can be correlated with network-based alerts from other security tools to prioritize threats and then respond appropriately on the endpoint.
This new application is freely available to the security community through IBM Security App Exchange, a marketplace where developers across the industry can share applications based on IBM Security technologies. As threats are evolving faster than ever, collaborative development amongst the security community will help organizations adapt quickly and speed innovation in the fight against cybercrime.
The Digital Guardian App for IBM QRadar leverages IBM Security QRadar, the company’s security intelligence platform which analyzes data across an organization’s IT infrastructure in real-time to identify potential security threats. Using QRadar’s new open application programming interfaces (API), The Digital Guardian App for IBM QRadar allows QRadar customers to integrate Digital Guardian’s deep visibility of insider threats and advanced external attacks to sensitive data in QRadar and then respond to these threats by deploying endpoint controls, which include quarantining infected machines. The App features filterable dashboards of Digital Guardian’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP) data including visibility of egress of sensitive data.
“The Digital Guardian App for IBM QRadar delivers QRadar customers enterprise wide visibility of system, data, and user events on endpoint computers for deep, granular insight and swift detection of insider and outsider attacks from within the QRadar console,” said Doug Bailey, Chief Strategy Officer, Digital Guardian. “This enhanced visibility allows IT security professionals to detect and respond to incidents faster directly from the QRadar console.”
